- Characteristics: leaves are arranged alternately, are simple, margins are entire, needle-like shape, 6” – 12” in length, dark green, with parallel venation. Flowers are not showy and yellow in color, Fruit is oval, elongated and cone shaped, 2” – 6” in length, brown and attract squirrels and mammals

- Wildlife: attracts squirrels and mammals, it provides a habitat for both wild turkeys and white-tailed deer, gray foxes and fox squirrels like to cut open cones to eat the pine seeds.
