Natchitoches Noisette, Southern Old Rose

  • Origin: China
  • Natchitoches Noisette is a’ found rose’ from a cemetery in an old fort in Natchitoches, Louisiana in 1714. These roses do very well in the climate of South Florida.  They produce small to medium blooms in clusters 5 to 9 with size 2” to 2.50” semi-double. The foliage is dark green and bushy. Natchitoches Noisette is very healthy and disease resistant. It prefers a sunny location, but will tolerate poor soils. It responds well to pruning.

  • Bloom Time:  Blooms repeatedly
  • Bloom Color: Shaded cream through yellow to pink
  • Light Needs: Full Sun (at least 5 hours per day) to light shade
  • Pruning Instructions: Blooms on new wood; prune early to promote new growth
  • Soil pH requirements: 5.6 to 6.0 (acidic), 6.1 to 6.5 (mildly acidic)
  • USDA Zone: 7b – 10a
